Flight
Quito, Mariscal Sucre Airport (UIO)
The long-awaited day has come for Catalina and I to embark on our journey to Ecuador.
We arrived at Changi Airport well ahead of time, and the check-in process went seamlessly. Accompanied by Tuck Meng, Catalina's affectionate husband who lovingly bid her farewell, we made our way to the departure hall.
Fortunately, Catalina had access to the DBS privilege lounge, where we enjoyed a delightful and relaxing experience with champagne and delectable food before heading to our departure gate.
Upon reaching the gate, we were surprised to find a long queue, but our wait was minimal thanks to a kind usher who directed us to our seats instead of waiting in line.
After a brief wait, we were called to board, and we easily settled into our seats. We were pleased with our decision to secure the two empty seats next to each other by paying a fee of $287. There was a moment of confusion when a couple mistakenly attempted to take my seat as their arrangements had been altered by the airline during their transit. Fortunately, after verification, everything was sorted out, and we comfortably enjoyed three seats each, allowing us to lie down and get some rest. Additionally, we had access to free Wi-Fi, enabling me to send work messages, which was incredibly convenient.
We arrived Amsterdam timely and the journey has been surprisingly comfortable and the transit process was smooth, with our gate conveniently located just opposite the plane exit.
We found a pleasant corner to rest and waited for approximately two hours before boarding this plane for our flight to Quito.
